Out of State Transfer Information
When transferring from state to state residency requirements differ. Please consider the following:
- Residency requirement for in-state tuition at Chemeketa is 90 days
- Most Oregon universities have a one-year residency requirement for in-state tuition, please visit the residency requirements for your transfer school
- We strongly encourage you to attend Chemeketa only part-time (6-8 credits) for the first year if moving to Oregon and wanting to transfer to an Oregon university
Quarter System vs. Semester System
1 semester credit = 1.5 quarter credits
Partial credits must be rounded down.
For example –- A 2 credit course at a semester college is worth 3 credits at Chemeketa
- A 3 credit course at a semester college is worth 4.5 credits but rounds down to 4 credits at Chemeketa
Transferring Out of Oregon
It is highly recommended that you contact your transfer school early to verify the transferability of your Chemeketa courses. You'll want to contact the admissions office in addition to the advisor for your intended major.
