Chemeketa for-credit students, faculty, and staff may use Summit, the Orbis Cascade Alliance catalog, to request items from 34 member libraries in Oregon and Washington. Authorized users have access to all of the material in the Chemeketa Community College library, plus about 28 million items in Summit. Best of all, authorized users may choose the Summit pickup location that is most convenient. Summit makes it easier for students to access materials needed for class (For example, a Chemeketa student who lives in Portland could request an item from University of Washington and have it delivered to Portland State University).

   How do you use Summit?

When you search in the Chemeketa/CCRLS catalog a "Search Summit" button will appear with your results list. If you do not find what you need in the Chemeketa/CCRLS catalog, click on the Search Summit button to pass your search through to the full Summit catalog. Click the "Request" link to have an item sent to another library, and follow the easy dialogue.

When typing your "K" number, include the "K" and do not leave any spaces. Note: Chemeketa employees need to add an “s” to the end of their K number when requesting Summit items.

Chemeketa personnel and for-credit students may also use Summit libraries in person (for example, if you live close to a Summit library such as Oregon State University or Western Oregon University, you may use that library and borrow materials there using your Chemeketa card).

Most Summit books check out for three weeks and will be held for you seven days at the pickup location. Most videos check out for three days and will be held for three days at the pickup location.
