Monica is from Cuba. Cuba is an island in the Caribbean, and it's hot there all year. Monica is living in Boston. Monica came to the United States in May. She liked the weather in Boston in May, June, July, and August. It was sunny and hot. September was warm, and Monica was comfortable. But now it is December. Monica can't believe the weather! It's very cold. It's 30 degrees. Her friends tell her, "This isn't cold yet! In January, it's going to be colder. And it's going to snow soon." Monica is at the clothing store with her sister. She needs warm clothes. She needs a coat. She needs a hat and gloves. She is also going to buy a sweater. Monica is standing in front of the mirror. She's trying on coats. She isn't comfortable. She's saying, "This coat feels so heavy."
