Attendance Policy: Just like a regular class, you will be expected to participate in class discussion at least three times a week. You may do this by talking all at once or a little bit every day. The activities will drive the discussion questions (and sometimes answers.) Your attendance is tracked by the computer, when you post a message in the class discussion area. You can search by your name to see how many times and at what hour a day you came to class. All work should be completed by Saturday midnight of each week.

Warning: it is easy to get behind in online classes, because there is no Mom forcing you to go to class nor will the telephone ring and remind you that it's time for class. You will have to set up a schedule to make sure that you have a structure for attending class.

Grading Policy: Grades are composed of class discussion, field trips, homework exercises, projects, quizzes and the final exam
. See Study Skills Score Card for points.

Bonus points will be given each week to the student who starts the discussion first. Just want you to know that this instructor knows how to add as well as subtract. Insightful comments that apply the textbook and field trip concepts and demonstrate integration of skills into practice are eligible for bonus points.

Diversity Statement: We are a college community enriched by the diversity of our students and staff. Each individual and group has the potential to contribute in our learning environment. Each has dignity. To diminish the dignity of one is to diminish the dignity of us all.
