Assignment:  Career Goals

Before starting on this activity, be sure you have completed your résumé.  I want you all to begin thinking about your career goals.  Toward that end, please answer the questions below and email the answers to them by the end of the week.

1. Make a list of at least five things you are interested in.  They can be anything from something you are good at to a hobby or even something you have never tried but would like to.
2. Make a list of possible professions you may be interested in pursing.  Hint, look at the list of things your are interested in and see if there are any ways you can get paid to do what you are interested in.  You may think of this as a dream job.
3. Make a list of jobs you think you may be qualified to do after completing your GED.  They may not be your dream jobs, but more of short-term jobs you can do while possibly working towards the goal of your dream job.
4. Go to any of the web sites below and look up the job described in #3.  Find out and write down the qualifications you need to apply.  Be sure to include all of the information you will need to fill out the application, etc.
5. Go to any of the following web sites and look up at least one of the jobs described in #2.  This should be your dream job.  Find out and write down the qualifications you need to apply.  Be sure to include all of the information you will need to fill out the application, etc.
